Mal's American Diner

Mal's American Diner

Mal's American Diner is a place to go to anytime. This family friendly restaurant has been around for 21 years, and is hoped it will be there for many more years to come. The current owner, Deana Catagnus, has been running Mal's for about 7 years, as well as the restaurant next door called the Back Porch Cafe'. Deana first encountered Mal's by being a waitress there. She then became the manager, and soon after was asked to run the restaurant.
As stepping up onto the brick stairs. the patio is seen with all the tables and chairs lined up. As the green door is opened, it squeaks every time it opens and closes. There is also a big step up on the large step to enter the restaurant. As soon as customers walk in the door, they are greeted by all the workers and smell the aroma of all the food being cooked and the delicious tasting coffee. They get the sense of that homey feeling every single time. On the side when you walk in, there is a large gumball machine with many different colored gumballs. Right near it is the long counter aligned with silver stools with red cushion seats. Behind the counter is the display of candy bars, a refrigerator with assorted drinks in it, the coffee machines brewing fresh coffee constantly, and a large sign in bright red letters that says "Ice Cream". Upon the wall above the counter on the greenish yellow walls are an assortment of about 25 different mugs hung on hooks. Above the mugs on a ledge are Garfield mugs and old fashioned toy cars going every other down the ledge. On the other side of the restaurant in the front room are the tables and chairs. Most of the tables are rectangles, but few are circle tables, all with green table cloths. The chairs are black with green cushion seats to match the table cloths. In front of the tables there is a sign that reads "Please Wait to be Seated".
The two best things about Mal's is the food and the people that work there. They are some of the kindest most genuine people you'll ever meet. They treat you like your best friend and make sure customers get the best service provided. Odie is a great server at Mal's American Diner. He sits customers down at their desired table. "Can I get you guys somethin' to drink?" he asks. Odie will go up to his customer and ask them what they want to drink. They review they menu given to them and order their choice of meal. Breakfast is also server everyday at Mal's. As customers wait for their food, they can look around the restaurant and see all the old antiques hanging on the wall. Old antiques linger all around on the walls; from old guitars to old music playing instruments, like french horns. Radio 106.1 was plays in the background while customers enjoy their time at Mal's American Diner.
While patiently waiting for customers food to come, they can smell it cooking in the kitchen. Odie walks out to their table with their food. He places down one plate of food at a time, while the customers have been waiting patiently for their meal. The customers dig into their meal with  pure joy on their faces. The meals and services are always delightful at Mal's American Diner.
As the customer was finishing their meal, Odie asked if he could top off their coffee and asked if they needed anything else. The customers asked for their check. The prices at Mal's can be a bit high, but in the end it is most definitely worth it, with the guaranteed great food and great service. If your ever looking for a family friendly place to go, Mal's American Diner is the place to chose.
